Additional Definitive Technology Mythos 1 Tower Speaker (Single, Silver) Information

The Definite Technology Mythos Series begins with three tall, sleek floorstanding loudspeakers (Mythos One, Four and Five) that have literally redefined the concept of floorstanding loudspeaker from big dark box to thin and sexy silver showoff, the perfect floorstanding complement to your wall mounted or table mounted flat screen television. These tower loudspeakers combine the elegant look of curved, hand-polished aircraft-grade Aluminum with state-of-the-art engineering technology that delivers the classic level of Definitive Technology sound quality: wide, dynamic soundstage, pinpoint imaging, and superb realism. Packed into these thin towers are proprietary damping technologies that ensure total rigidity, D'Appolito Driver Arrays in narrow PolyStone baffles (voice-matched with whole Mythos line for easy mix-and-match system building), Definitive's exclusive Planar Technology Pressure Driven Bass Radiators to enhance low frequency response, and newly designed Linkwitz-Riley Crossover Networks to more perfectly blend the drivers into a sonically seamless audio environment. Mythos Floorstanding Tower Loudspeakers rise dramatically from unbreakable Tempered Glass Bases that include carpet spikes and rubber feet for stability on any type of flooring.

What Customers Say About Definitive Technology Mythos 1 Tower Speaker (Single, Silver):

Great speakers, look and sound terrific. Couldn't beat the price of the silver vs black speakers. I'm not tech savy, but I couldn't be happier with the product

Definitive rocks. They match perfect with my Mythos two rear surrounds and my Mythos eight center. These speakers rock. I added a supercube 2, and a Klipsch synergy sub 12 for each side of the couch and the put a Martin Logan Dynamo in the front firing forward. I use them as my front speakers. Stable on the carpet using the included spikes which is a must in my opinion. WOW WOW WOW, all hooked to an elite sc07. I just don't see how it can get any better.

reat speakers attractive look amazingly musical using in bedroom have thiels in main listening room so I expect a lot from a set up using simple Denon reciever and the stereo sound is great and def tech has always been great with movies for thousands less I love using Mythos 3 center and PSB sub would def recommend for the 899 price tag per speaker one of the best under 2000 for total entertainment.

Many of the silver-finish Mythos speakers are easy to find on sale for over 50% off. Listening to a cd through Mythos 1's and a capable subwoofer will bring out the full emotion of each song and reveal every detail of the performance. However, the main attraction is value. Despite most of them being released several years ago, they still have a modern look. The Mythos 1 is a competent mid-level front speaker with no discernible shortcomings. They also make excellent surround speakers at this price (especially when you factor in price of gem stands), but may be overkill. The speakers on your TV cannot compare. It has more than engouh power for me, I usually listen at -20 to -30 db.The Mythos 1 lends a clear, full sound to your entertainment center.

The sound stage is impressive. My configuration is: 2x Definitive Technology Mythos 1 Tower Speaker (Single, Silver) fronts, 1x Definitive Technology Mythos 3 Center Speaker (Single, Silver) center, 2x Definitive Technology Mythos Gem Satellite Speakers (Pair, Black) surrounds, 1x Epik Sentinel subwoofer (Def Tech supercubes are slick and good for their size, but overpriced). After weeks of researching, I settled on Definitive Technology's Mythos line of speakers. For home theater, the Mythos 1's perform equally as well. Even at full MSRP, they perform very well for their price. My receiver is a Denon AVR2310CI 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver with 1080p HDMI Connectivity (aka Denon 890). These speakers won't blow your eardrums out but they will (at reasonable volume levels) help provide a depth and realism only available with a decent surround sound system.Overall, the Mythos 1 is an amazing performer for the price and will be the best front speaker for many looking to get great 5.1 performance on a $2000-$2500 budget. I will probably pick up 2 more Mythos 1's when I'm ready to upgrade to a 7.1 system, though the Gems are quite capable themselves.

The glass base is solid, thick and looks really good. Klipsch costs twice as much as the mythos 1.I tried watching Transformer and Celine Dion concert, they are much better and fuller than what I have before due to a full range sound of mythos.I tried using this as a stereo system and you would not believe the clarity of the dialogue and you hear every sound including folding a paper. The mid-range is good but still lacks some punch but when I set it to LARGE then I get an excellent midrange. Style is pretty awesome, sleek and tall. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is I have listened to Mythos ST and that would be my future LR. response is only 40 hz to 23 khz.

In comparison with Klipsch xf48, even if this has a built-in amp of 110w its freq.

Putting the stand is a snap.

I was using Klipsch Quintet SL before and there is just no comparison.

Sound is very good though you still need a subwoofer to really enjoy it.

There is just too much details I never heard before.I'm using HK AVR 347 and klipsch sub12 subwoofer.

For the price and quality, its the best. This has a freq response of 20 hz to 30 mhz.

Average people can hear from 20hz to 20 mhz meaning these mythos would give you a full range sound.

If you go to Best Buy and like the QUINTET SL wait till you get these.

Built-in amp is really the way to go.
